What would the new year be without first closing off the old one? I thought I’d throw up some pics, in my good old fashioned album style, just to keep you all updated. At least before the Super Bowl and the customary offseason break hits. The one above is the boys and I on the beach on Boxing Day, 2011.
So I heard a story about James Jones. At least I believe it was James Jones; I must say at the time, I was too shell-shocked to pay all of the attention that I should have been. Anyway, it was about his parents wanting to come to Lambeau Field to watch him play and them deciding that the divisional playoff game was a good time to do it. In his wisdom, James told them to stay at home and enjoy the game in the comfort of their living room, then, once they were past the Giants and Green Bay was preparing to host the NFC Championship game, he would arrange all that was needed for them to visit and watch them win their way into the Super Bowl.
Of course, as “I’m Rachel Nichols, (insert head nod) ESPN” reported, that trip to Lambeau never happened.

I have deliberately skipped week 16 because we played the Bears and the Bears still suck so badly that I don’t want to waste any of my time writing about them. (I’m being facetious of course). In actual fact, it was a Christmas Day game that came through down here on Boxing day and when it’s summer time and Santa Claus has brought the kids new bikes, the best thing to do is hit the beach and take them for a ride, right?
That, and the fact that the Bears game didn’t actually mean anything in the scheme of things anyway. We won, or, more importantly we weren’t spooked by the loss last week, so everything was peaches again. Pretty simple if you ask me! (Matt Flynn photo credit: AP Photo/Jim Prisching. Not a day goes by where I don’t think of my family, my career, my website and our Green Bay Packers. That said, I cannot believe how quickly the last 2 months of 2011 flew by. Sitting down only now, whilst I’m on vacation and I have the time to do so, I am surprised that my last entry, from Week 10 for goodness sake, seems like it was a year ago, not just a few weeks back.
I must say, the delay related largely to my wanting to post an update for every single week. A feat that proved virtually impossible as I attempted to juggle work heading into the Christmas period and all of the day-to-day responsibilities of being a spectacular husband, wonderful Dad and loyal assistant to Santa Claus himself. Ok, so I embellish just a little! (Charles Woodson photo credit: Todd Rosenberg/NFL. No Link.)

Well what a week it has been. The weather is Sydney has been absolutely spectacular and my workload has been heavier than I can ever remember it being. Thank goodness for Green Bay Packer football is all I can say.
I feel like I’m saying the same thing every week but again this week I missed the game due to it starting at lunchtime on Tuesday afternoon. Of course, if you’ve been keeping up to date, then you already know my ritual of keeping up with the score whilst I work so I won’t delve into any of that again. I must say though that I did find it particularly enjoyable to just sit there tonight, with my feet up and completely forget that anything else in the world even existed. It was very nice indeed.
