Desperate to do things for the kids and live the true Green Bay experience we were off to the YMCA this morning to give Ben the chance to meet some little friends and burn some much needed energy. Like a kid in a candy store he did well to run around like a chook with its head cut off. Not prepared to listen to a single word anybody uttered he ran north, south, east and west. As far away from the rest of the class as possible and as close as he could to everything he shouldn’t have been near in the first place. We certainly couldn’t blame him for being curious but boy can this kid run when he wants to.....
What better way to spend the day than going to the Atrium at Lambeau to check it out properly for the first time? Thinking about where to have lunch and spend what could have been a wet and windy day was easy knowing that we hadn’t actually had a good look around the venue that brought us some 15,000 miles in the first place.
I have entered this today as I have been waiting on pictures that will complete the story with the justice it deserves.....
Pick the odd one out of this sentence and you’ll get a feel for the sort of day we had on Saturday. Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Jerry Kramer, Max McGee, Fuzzy Thurston and The Scullino Family. Can you see it? If you’re American then I’m sure you can. If not, try this – Don Bradman, Greg Norman, Pat Rafter, Johnny Raper, Tony Lockett and The Scullino Family. Can all of our Australian friends see it now? No? Ok, this is the last time and I’ll do my best to make it as simple as I can. Legend, Legend, Legend, Legend, Legend and The Scullino Family.
Who wishes he wore shorts to the game today?
Me and about 10,000 other people I’m sure. Talk about unexpected weather. All we ever hear from people here when referring to the weather is “you wait” or “have you brought your jackets?” The former is usually followed with a smile, giggle or hearty laugh as they look at us with friendly concern. Now I’m sure I’ll look back on this post in 8 weeks and wish it was as nice as it was today but for now I’m going to say if this is Wisconsin weather then give me more of it.
Posted in: Game Day,This was a wonderful day. Tell me, do you have any women’s awards or Mother of the year awards or women’s magazine’s that pay respect to great women in the community? I ask because, as most of you have noted, Kelly has been so great to both the kids and I that she deserves something out of this too. Something that does not involve the 3 most beautiful, darling, caring, handsome men in her world. I mean the 3 humans that depend on her every second of the day.
