Our Plans

Saturday, January 26, 2008

Alot of people have asked either via comment, email or in person, what our plans are from here and to be honest, I feel kind of empty even having to consider it. With the football season being over, the thought that we’re on our way home is kind of sad. I’d like to stay here and see what happens without football on the weekends?

The Clean Up Begins

Friday, January 25, 2008

imageDoesn’t time fly by when you don’t get the chance to sit back and watch it? We’ve been so busy these last 2 days that I can’t believe we’re at the end of the week already. The football season seems so long ago.

I’m combining the entries for yesterday and today because, for the most part, we haven’t done anything of great excitement. That doesn’t mean we haven’t been flat out, it just means that sorting our apartment out, confirming flights, boxing up our unwanted items for charity and cleaning up after Luc helps himself to the pantry isn’t worth repeating over two days of text.

I did ponder what might have been of course. I’m sure we all did at some point. The thing that stayed with me for the most part before my eyes got the better of me, was what everybody in this town, us included, was going to do now. A loss like that affects so many people in so many different ways.

NFC Championship Game

Monday, January 21, 2008

imageWhat can you say about a day like today? Seriously. I’ve been trying to put it into words all night long. It was an abrupt finish to a season that most hoped would never end. It was a sad night as we watched the opportunities slip through our fingers. It was alot of things to alot of people.

My good friend Don, when talking to Giants fans at Curly’s after the game, put it very nicely I thought. When they commented on how well he was taking the loss he replied “You need to accept the losses for what they are and move on. Without the taste of defeat, the taste of winning wouldn’t be so sweet”. I know, I know, we still want to win every single game we play but deep down we know it’s true. Won’t we remember this game more than ever if we do go all the way next year? I think so.
