2009 Week 6 vs Detroit

Hello all, hope this post finds you well.
Thank you for all of your comments to my first post in a long time, it sure is nice having a little time to get back on and say hello once a week. That being said, with the bye last week I didn’t get on...but I’m sure you figured that out already!
What a week the last week was! I can’t remember a shut-out since, well, the Vikings in 2007. Ahhh what a game that was. Cold from what I remember but very good times with my mate Robbo to keep me company. I can remember watching the video like it was only yesterday. Hang on, I did watch it yesterday. Anyway, onto this week. I didn’t get to see any of the game, as is normally the case down here. I did however get a good look at the highlights and my first impression was “only 26-0”? It was 23-0 at halftime??? What a lacklustre 2nd half it must have been? Loved the first quarter touchdown to James Jones though and, of course, Donald Drivers 3rd quarter, one handed catch despite their corner being all over him.
On Aaron Rodgers, I don’t know how anybody can’t appreciate him for what he’s doing this year. Averaging almost 300 yards per game, 8 TD’s to 2 interceptions and a passer rating in excess of 100. Not bad at all. Yeah, I know that he’s taken 25 sacks, 4 again in the first half this week but for what it’s worth I have no doubt that we’re in good hands. And, though some may love it and some may hate it I watched the Vikings beat the Ravens too. So, so lucky this week but Brett is playing out of skin, even if his role is a more limited one than it once was. And who would have thought that he’d have thrown 12 TD’s for 2 interceptions??? According to alot of the blogs I’ve read, not many!
The thing that I wonder most about now is, would Brett be playing as well as he is with the Vikings if he were still in Green Bay? It’s easy to say that he would ‘cause he’s Brett Favre. Then again it’s easy to say that he wouldn’t because he wouldn’t have the likes of AP and the Vikings Defense to help him out. In saying that, I was surprised to see the Brett has actually attempted and completed more passes than Aaron. Interesting??? I think the big plus for us is that it’s getting cold again in Green Bay and as much as I love ol’ Brett Favre, I’d rather have Aaron under centre as the snow starts to fall this year… I think the big minus though lies in the fact that he has a warm dome to play in now and if he keeps playing the way he is, no Aaron or DD or Greg Jennings wizardy is going to help us.
As for the rest of the league, I have been watching as much as I can. For those that don’t recall we get the Sunday and Monday night prime time games here on ESPN. Last night, in fact we had two games. The first was Arizona vs Seattle. I just want to say thanks to Seattle for an awfully boring game of football. Love the whole 12th man thing they have going on with the crowd though! Why didn’t we think of that? And the second was Chicago vs Atlanta. I didn’t see any of that game or the highlights but I do know the Falcons won. Ha, turns out the Bears still suck then!!! Hehe. Love or hate Tom Brady his 2nd quarter against the Titans was amazing. And what about the Titans, -2 passing yards for the whole game. The league should punish them for that somehow. No really, like suspend them from next week or something! And hows about the snow at Gillette? Reminded of me of Lambeau against the Seahawks when we were there. So wonderful. Also, I had a bit of a thing for the whole Mark Sanchez story in New York. Then he capitulated last week poor bloke… I feel for him.
On a final note, I couldn’t really care less about the Redskins, the Rams or the Raiders but I really did find their last week interesting too. The fact that the Redskins suck more than the Bears, that the Rams snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, poor guys and that the Raiders beat the Eagles. I wouldn’t have picked that in a hundred years!
Anyway, that’s enough from me. Here’s looking forward to another win this week against the Browns. Until then I’m off to bed. Hope you enjoy your Tuesday, mine was great!

Welcome back Wayne. I had been checking the site at times to see if you were posting but didn’t see anything at the start of year. It’s halftime so I thought I would check again. Good to see you posting again.
