2011 Wk 6 vs. St Louis

After last week against Atlanta I don’t know of a single person who even considered giving St Louis a chance this week against our all conquering Green Bay Packers. I know that sounds just a tad facetious but heck, we all know it’s true, right? This must be what it felt like to have been a Patriots fan only a few years ago.
Having said that, it wasn’t the prettiest of games though was it? And judging by my experience on the social network side of things, most people I know, or, don’t know, as my friends and followers list would have it, agreed; the second half in particular. In fact, I may even be so bold as to say that this was quite possibly the most boring half of football I have ever witnessed in my life..... (Credit: AP Photo/Jeffrey Phelps)
Here’s how I saw it.
Kick off for me was at 5am, so for the first quarter I did more ‘snooze-button’ hitting than I did game watching. And the second half wasn’t too different I’m afraid. Only, I was actually awake for the second half, wondering whether or not I should have in fact stayed asleep. That said, there was certainly a large part of me that wished I had of seen the Aaron to Jordy pass live instead of on replay. Even though I have watched more times than I care to remember, nothing beats seeing plays like that live as they happen.
I watched the second half as I got ready for work so it wasn’t all that bad. My expectations of seeing the offence in full flight as they ran up the score on a team that’d be begging the clock to count down quicker than it actually was, could not have been further from the truth.
The halftime score of 24-3, much to my dismay, stayed the full-time score; 24-3. I sat comfortably on the lounge, made myself a cup of tea, did the dishes, turned on my laptop to do a little work, ironed my shirt for work, social networked a little to see what others thought and all the while, the score remained 24-3. Not that that was the worst thing in the world, I mean St Louis could have scored and started a comeback which would have been terrible. The thing is though, despite Aaron’s 300+ yards and 3 touchdowns for the game, we didn’t look like scoring at all in the second half. And, as I’m sure most would agree, if there’s one thing that we have become accustomed to, it’s scoring.

I’ve never been a big fan of the throwback uniforms but for some reason today I loved them. Poor St Louis never had a chance! Go Pack!
