Double D, Crosby and Me

I was very excited about letting Kelly go for the day today so that she could feel a little bit human again. What better way of getting out of the house (hotel room) is there than shopping, lunch and coffee with a friend? OK, I’m sure there are a ton of better remedies, not the least of which would start with trips to Paris, diamonds and handbags but alas, this was the best we could manage.
It was a relatively quiet day for the boys and I which was nice. Knowing that Kel had some time to herself made it especially worthwhile. Just on that, I have had alot people comment on the sacrifices Kelly has made to be here on this trip with the kids. The support she has given me in this last week has been nothing short of amazing.
Now, knowing full well that this town has everything you need to know and more about the Packers doesn’t make up for the fact that despite being a fan, I have no idea where to see or find any of it. In saying that I was very happy that my first Packer based television show was “Inside the Huddle” with Donald Driver and Drew Smith. I loved every minute of it. It was funny, loud, live and alot of fun. If you haven’t been down there before you should go, it’s at “The Bar” on Holmgren way and is broadcast, usually, the Monday following each game. It really was a very cool experience.
Again, we were lucky enough to have the guys talk to us a little on air about our story, why the heck we were doing it and what it was like to get to Lambeau for the first time. That and a quick photo with “Double D” and Mason Crosby to take home for the pool room wall made for a really great night.
As a side note and I don’t want to get into talking about particular bars, pubs or restaurants but I did learn something tonight. As a football fan, you have some of the most spectacularly decorated, let’s call them “establishments” that I have ever seen. “The Bar” was full of helmets, pictures and autographs from High School to the Pro’s. I love the whole High School Football mentality here by the way. I know I mentioned it in my earlier post whilst in Santa Monica but seriously, I think it’s tops. The other bars, restaurants and even fast food places have all been loaded with football memories past and present too. It’s such a buzz to get out and see it all.

"That’s going straight to the pool room”.....you can take the boy out of Australia.....
Great to hear from you the other day and I’m so pleased we got this website up and running before you left as I’m fixed on reading every update you and Kel are posting - Rachel is fairly hooked too.
However, nothing beats the real thing so let me know once you have a “Cellphone” we can call you on!
By the way, as per my email, I have some interest here on your story - you just need to give me the nod to spread the word for you.....
Reubs, Rach & Freddie.
Ahhhh The Castle what an Aussie classic. Thanks mate. Talk soon.
