Email Responses

I just wanted to take some time to thank everybody for the emails we have received since our story first ran in the Green Bay Press Gazette on September 8, 2007.

I’m doing so beacuse as it stands, today being the 8th January 2008, we simply haven’t been able to keep up with the demand as they’ve been coming in. Kelly and I always intended to reply to every single one and we still will. I’m afraid though that it won’t happen whilst we are still here. At the moment we have hundreds and hundreds of messages yet to be returned. Truth be known it’s closer to 1000 than it is 100.

After the first 2 weeks we had received some 300 emails and from that point on, as we did a few different things in the media, it just grew and grew.

Thankyou again for your email if yours is one that we haven’t responded to yet. Thankyou for your kind wishes, your offers of breakfast, lunch and dinner and for all of the stories you’ve shared with us. Thankyou for your offers of accomodation, tickets, travelling tips and everything else that you sent. I wish, amongst trying to find our place in this new town, entertain our boys, see the Packers play all over the country and maintain this website that there was more time for us to say hello back. I really do.

From the bottom of our hearts please know that our lack of return was not intentional, the days simply caught up with us. We hope that in the future, we get to see, meet and spend time with all that have followed our journey from day 1.

Thankyou again,

Wayne and Kelly

I know you have been “flat out like lizards drinking” and can not get back to everyone but I am sure everyone understands. It’s kinda sad to know your time here is almost up. It’s been a “hoot” following your blogs etc.I am hoping you will continue once you get home. Kudos to Kelly, she is a trooper & I just want to say to her hang in there you are close to going home. You are an amazing woman !!

Having moved to GB 11 yrs. ago and having grown up in the land of the “Yuppers”, I knew what the hospitality would be like, esp. for a Packer Fan.  But because of your unusual story, you probably received more than you ever expected.  It’s been fun following your blog.  I’m only sorry we had not chance to meet.  My intentions were good, but your schedule, according to all your blogs, didn’t seem to leave you much chance to kick back and have many free moments.  Continued good luck in this adventure.  Hope to see you in GB again when the boys are old enough to appreciate it.
When is your plan to head back home???
And as a side note....I may have missed this as it could have been on one of your TV interviews....  What is Kelly’s Dream of a Lifetime??

I moved to Austin from Milwaukee, WI in 2005, but I keep up by reading the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel online.  I kept telling the Texans how great WI is and they never believed me until I read them the article where you moved all the way from Australia for the Packers. Then I read them the part where a guy from Austin commutes back and forth for Packer games.  They were astonished. Thank you for validating the greatness of my home state and team.  God Bless you and your family, Wisconsin, and the Packers !
