End of March Already?

imageSo I tried to cut down the pictures this week through fear of deluging you with more than you could handle and I am happy to say I did so successfully. From 19 last week to 15 today - not bad huh? In fact, I tried another little something new today and that was to put a picture of Kelly and I at the top because for the last few weeks, Ben seems to have taken the cake as gorgeous as he is.

Well, as usual, alot has happened in the last 7 days. If you take into account that last week’s update finished on the 16th March though, you’ll see I’ve actually got 15 days to talk about, not 7.

In a nutshell, we’ve spent some time down the beach, I know, impossible to believe, had fun at pre-school and playgroup, celebrated Easter, went indoor rock climbing for the very first time and planted our own vegetable patch. We also re-acquainted ourselves with an old fun centre that the boys just love, rode our pushbikes for the first time in a long time, had lunch with some long lost friends (thanks Steve, Mon and Georgia), celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and continued to enjoy the sun as summer popped it’s head back in for what has been a glorious 2 week encore.

Also, in late breaking news, I am pleased to say I have accepted a position with a great Internet Search Marketing company called Hitwise. They’re a global organisation with offices in the US, UK, Asia and the Pacific and a worldwide leader in online competitive intelligence and the optimisation of corporate websites. It only happened today so I won’t say too much but I start on the 14th which, after the layoff we’ve just experienced, can’t come soon enough. I will say however that I am absolutely stoked to be working online and can’t wait to sink my teeth into it.

So on with the pics (I hope you’re ok with this continued format by the way? Reminding myself of each week through the “our pictures” folder is so much easier than doing it any other way):

image

Wednesday 19th March - The first real sign that Easter isn’t far away. Ben made this basket at play group the day before.

image

Thursday 20th March - I have added a few of the beach again this week. The ones from last week were of Ben and I only. This week, ‘cause we had so much fun, I demanded Kelly and Luc come aswell. We had a great afternoon, played by the sand, picked up plenty of shells, then had fish and chips for dinner, which I believe you call a “fish fry”. (Why didn’t we do that?)

image

Thursday 20th March - I haven’t added alot of Kelly and I together since arriving back so I’ve made a more concerted effort this week. Ben took this photo all by himself.

image

Thursday 20th March - Whilst we were all having a ball Luc got very bored very quickly and after half an hour or so made it quite clear to the 3 of us. Here are his feet before we washed ourselves down for dinner. There’s something about sand on a baby’s feet that just looks so summery.

image

Sunday 23rd March, Easter Sunday – As if the chocolate eggs all over the house weren’t enough, we had to check the plate we left out to see if the Easter Bunny ate his carrot and drank his milk when he stopped by.....he did!

image

Sunday 23rd March, Easter Sunday – Luc, not one for Easter celebrations just yet retreated to his single favourite pastime since arriving back – pushing his cars down the “speed ramp”. He could play this all day long.

image

Sunday 23rd March, Easter Sunday – What Easter would be complete without an Easter egg hunt in the backyard? This is our boys with their best friend and Cousin Ella. Do kids do this in Green Bay? Surely they do?

image

Sunday 23rd March, Easter Sunday – The Easter 2008 family portrait. With a basket full of eggs who wouldn’t be happy?

image

Monday 24th March, Easter Monday – Ben thought rock climbing with Ella was just the greatest thing ever.....for about 30 seconds. After that the two of them had an ice cream and ran around for the best part of an hour while I had a go at touching the ceiling.

image

Monday 24th March, Easter Monday - This is Luc at the rock climbing centre after he had finished the rest of Ben’s ice cream. Doesn’t his smile just say it all?

image

Wednesday 26th March - This is the now infamous vegetable garden that we planted to mirror the one at pre-school. It has peas and corn ‘cause they’re Luc’s favourites. It also has tomatoes, carrots and strawberries, all at the request of Ben. This picture even made it to the wall of Ben’s pre-school ‘cause the teachers were so proud of his handy work.

image

Friday 28th March - Before we sold our home we had an indoor play centre around the corner called “Funz”. Ben thought this place was wonderful. From the moment we entered the driveway he knew exactly where we were and he remembered the train they have going in and out of all of the equipment. This is him in the ball pit (which for some reason we could only find at Hardee’s while we were there?).

image

Saturday 29th March – Our 5th Wedding anniversary. Thanks to our funds being a little tight we had to play this anniversary a little lower key than I would have hoped. This was after lunch and coffee at a great place called Fox Studios. It actually has a new name now but it is so stupid that the entire population, except for those that are paid to say otherwise, still call it “Fox”.

image

Sunday 30th MarchAnd last but not least, one of my favourite pics for the week, Luc enjoying his very own ice block. He was so excited I let him hold the stick that he could barely contain himself.

Well, another week another 10,000 photos for you to digest. In other news the Rugby League season has started here so that’s very exciting. My team the Cronulla Sharks have started 2 and 1 through 3 weeks of a 21 week season. The two wins came from last year’s Grand Finalists so that has been a great start. Otherwise we’re all good and all settled into our regular Sydney lives again. The book is continuing to progress well and so too is everything else. I’m even beginning to make some headway on the 800 or so emails to which we are yet to respond. Now if I could only start work sooner than later we’d all be swimming.

Talk to you again next week,

Go Pack!

By the way, you’ll notice a little change to the way you add comments as of today. To cut down on the incredible amount of spam being added to the older entries I had to install what they call a “Captch”. It prevents automatically generated comments from being added as the program that adds the comment can’t read the text in the image. Exciting huh?

Hey Y’all I’m finally catching up on your whereabouts.  A Happy Belated Anniversary to you and Kelly.  Love the photos of the boys and as a former gardner, I am impressed with Ben’s first attempt.  He’ll be feeding the neighborhood before long!!!  Your Easter looked like a fun day.  Yeah, we have Easter Egg hunts, but this year it had to be indoors.  When Mother Nature cooperates, it can be outdoors.  But that doesn’t happen bery often, at least not in the frozen tundra of WI!!!  Have a good one…

Best of luck with the new gig, although personally, gotta say, I see ya as a natural born sports broadcaster.
NFL draft is coming up, almost time to see what Thompson and Coach Mac’ve been plotting.  Get ‘em, Pack!
