Lazy Lazy Week

Well I hate to disappoint you all but this week has been a really boring week by comparison to our last few. It’s been quite deliberate I must say, thanks to the fact that I start my new job in 7 days time. I’ve been taking advantage of the quiet time now while I’ve still got it.
When I do something I tend to throw myself into it completely (this website for example) so I figure if I don’t relax a little now I’ll be exhausted by the end of my first week. I’ve got to say I am looking forward to my first day. I’ve been stinging to start work since returning so the days can’t go by quickly enough.
I’d like to send a very special thank you to Kim and Patti this week for sending me the SI, Brett Favre edition as above and some of the Gazette’s from the week of Brett’s retirement. As I said to Kim, you can really get lost in those magazines and completely forget everything that is going on around you.
I’ve been “head down, bum up” with respect to the book over the last few days especially. I’m hoping to have it as good as finished by the weekend so that I can forward it to the publisher and let them take it from here. That’ll be a massive load off let me tell you.
So far as the weather is concerned, let me tell you that I think we’ve about seen the best of it. As I type this at 1030pm it’s raining and 63F (17C) and it’s set to get colder from here. Daylight savings finished on the weekend too so it’s now getting dark at 615pm. In a month or so it’ll be dark at 530pm. I noticed, thanks to a couple of gadgets on my desktop, that the temps have hit the mid 60’s there too. How great that must be for all of you. In fact, just the other morning as I got up to check my email I noticed that is was 5 degrees warmer there than it was here. Now there’s something I didn’t expect to see so quickly.
Other than that, like I said, it’s been quite a relaxed few days. We’ve spent a lot of time down the park, feeding the ducks (2nd pic), riding our bikes and just hanging out as our time together draws to a close. The last 2 pictures were taken on Sunday at the 1st Annual Red Bull “Flugtag” event here on the shores of Sydney Harbour. “Flugtag” is German for flying day and basically it’s a competition whereby contestants build papier-mâché planes and try to fly them off a 6 metre cliff and into the water (as above). The planes usually just fall straight in but the anticipation of waiting to see if the next one will do any good was great.
Next weeks update will come after my first day at work, if I’m not asleep by 8pm so stay tuned. Until then,
(By the way, I edited this entry a little and withdrew any reference to “top secret projects”. I was writing that part at 1am and now that morning has broken I realise that they’re really not that exciting so there’s no need to worry too much about them. I should have known better than to mention them at all. Plus, time restaraints will probably leave me without the chance to put them together anyway. If I do you’ll be the first to know.)

Saw a mention of the Red Bull Event on TV and anxiously looked for you as one of the participants!!! Thought that would be another book for you!! Ha, Ha!
Good luck at your new job and hope it turns out to be everything you have hoped for. And let’s hope your publisher doesn’t ask for a rewrite!!!

John..retarted is spelled retarded.. need I say more? by the way Brad, I think you spoke over John’s head, you need to speak in 3 grade terms he understands, also I hope the proctologist is unqualified, John.. Wayne spent a lot of money here and paid for almost everything himself, he also helped give the fans and the Green Bay Packers more world recognition

John, you know me huh? If so, where do I live and it ain’t in Wisconsin or Australia. You can call me ugly if you want because it don’t hurt me. Everyone is beautiful in my eyes. I give Wayne props for living out his dream. Many people have dreams and don’t do anything about them. He realized that this would most likely be Brett’s last season and if he wanted to live his dream he needed to act now. You are just jealous because he got to live his dream. I wish that I would’ve been able to see Brett play at Lambeau.
Wayne, I am sorry that you have people like John posting on your site trying to put you down. You are a true Packer Fan! I wish that I would have the guts to pack up my family and go 1/2 way around the world to another country to live out one of my dreams. Good Luck on the book! I can’t wait to be able to read it.

Hi Guys,
Wayne here.
There aren’t many people who know what we received for free whilst in Green Bay. Nor are there many who know what we spent or lost in income over the 9 month period before, during and after. One, which will come as a surprise to some, was a little (all of which we will be forever grateful) and one, which I’m sure won’t come as a surprise to many, was a whole lot. (Yes, not just alot, a WHOLE lot!).
As for all of the comments, I demand (very nicely) we be nice to each other. Packer fans are supposed to be some of the greatest on the planet I thought? We all root for the same team, live for the same Sunday and hope against all hope that another win is just around the corner.
Comments like these have only happened once before and I’d hate for it happen again. I keep a happy site, for happy people who want to share the love. Where is all the love I ask, where is all the love?
We love everybody - even John who thinks I’m a sissy but comes back everyday none the less.
Please remember why we’re all here in the end and what’s makes us the fans that we all know we are.
Go Pack!
