Playtime at the Y

Desperate to do things for the kids and live the true Green Bay experience we were off to the YMCA this morning to give Ben the chance to meet some little friends and burn some much needed energy. Like a kid in a candy store he did well to run around like a chook with its head cut off. Not prepared to listen to a single word anybody uttered he ran north, south, east and west. As far away from the rest of the class as possible and as close as he could to everything he shouldn’t have been near in the first place. We certainly couldn’t blame him for being curious but boy can this kid run when he wants to.....
The gym class was followed by swimming. This was much the same. Whilst the organisation of laps up and down the “big” pool was in order there were screams of “No way”. When it came to playing with toys in the little pool, he couldn’t get enough. Oh to be a kid again.
We came home after a little play with the dry toys outside the change rooms and prepared to pack our things for a move into a much bigger room courtesy of our friends here at the hotel. That and a delicious home cooked meal by Kel, which I now wish I had taken a photo of, made for one of the most “normal” days we have had here since arriving.

I love your site. Thanks for posting that picture of the YMCA. I was born in Green Bay and that’s where I played in youth basketball. It brings back great memories. I’m a season ticket holder (since 2001), but live in Tennessee so I don’t make it to many games. I guess you just took away all of my excuses (expense, distance, logistics, etc.).
