Rugby League - Goodbye My Friend

My last live game of Rugby League this year.
I haven’t been to the football (Rugby League) here for a while. The Sharks haven’t been doing so well of late after a cracking start to the season. Either way I went tonight with a good friend of mine. A tight friend but a good none the less. The way the Sharks are playing doesn’t really lend itself to travelling 35 minutes to an away game, parking a mile from the stadium, standing there in the cold for an hour and half all to walk away with another “L” for the season.
I agreed to go in part, hold on, only, because we had been invited into a private box with a sponsor of the opposing team, the Parramatta Eels. The Eels on the contrary are doing extremely well and should challenge for the Premiership come finals time. The box includes dinner, drinks, coffee and dessert. It’s indoors, warm and extremely welcoming. You can enjoy the football with televisions providing personal replays of all the action if you happened to miss any of it whilst enjoying everything else you have at your fingertips.
It was a great night. Oh and for the record, against all odds, the Sharks won. I know, we couldn’t figure it out either? Suffice to say it was the first win in 8 weeks so we enjoyed the car ride home just that little but more.
Completely un-Packer related i know but it’s symbolic in that the supporters baton is being passed from one code of football here to another.
