Week 12 @ Saints

What a game huh? For all the wrong reasons I’m sorry to say. But I guess you all know that already...I decided not to write on Monday as I said I had allocated by the way. I couldn’t see the point in posting before the game was played and that’s why this one is a day late. I figured you all knew that already anyway.
As some of you might remember me saying whilst there, down here in Oz we get 2 full games a week, the Sunday Night and Monday Night prime time games. Yep, that means that this game was broadcast live here and then replayed, in it’s entirety some 9 hours later. The unfortunate thing however, was that I was at work for the live screening during the day (kickoff was at 1230 Tuesday afternoon) and I was at work for the replay at 930 Tuesday night too. Not that it would have mattered, we don’t have cable at the moment so even if I was home, I couldn’t have watched it anyway.
I know spirits were down after the Vikings loss but very quickly picked up again after we hammered Chicago. I wonder what the feeling is now after having 50 points put on us??? Not just that but at the same time as one New York Jets team kicked clear in their division having defeated the only unbeaten team in the league??? What a quandary we Packers fans have to face this year.
For the record, as I’m sure most are wondering, yes, I am following the Jets this season too. Not following as in I love them all of a sudden but following as in I am interested to see how they fare with the injection of one Brett Favre this year. How can you not look at both teams and wonder what might have been if things were a little different. It pains me to see that a team, who let’s face it, most don’t rate at all, are so close to clinching a playoff birth whilst ours, love or hate the way that Brett left, wallows in 3rd place knowing that only the team who wins the division will make the playoffs in just 5 weeks time.
I could write all night long about my thoughts on our current position and that of the Jets by comparison but I’m sure you get that everyday in the Gazette and on the news already. Aren’t Jets games being broadcast in WI this year? I’m pretty sure I read that somewhere.
Either way, I am certainly pulling for a few stronger performances by the Green and Gold as 2008 winds down and the football season ramps up. I’m not sure that any of us, after the amazing year last year, could fathom seeing either the Bears or Vikings in the playoffs as our guys empty their lockers and start planning their off season get aways already. I’m still fairly confident that we’ll feature in January again this season, I just hope that that confidence is restored even more next week with a win over the Panthers.
On the family front all is good. We celebrated Luc’s 2nd birthday over the weekend which was delightful. Little boys, presents and birthday cakes in summertime. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Great to hear from you and know you and the family are healthy and safe. I believe most of your ‘fans’ were concerned about that more than anything. Been one sad, strange season in Packerland (which extends far beyond WI.) Would love to hear more about what you guys are doing when you can find a few minutes.
