Yup, you read right, Winter 2011. ‘Cause while you’re all the way up there enjoying our sunshine, we’re all the way down here freezing our you-know-what’s off. And let me tell you, we’re freezing. It was 38 this morning when we got up!
Haha! Break out the cries of laughter. I know I’m being a big wuss but believe me 38 in Sydney is a whole lot colder than 38 in Green Bay. For starters most of us don’t have central heating. Our shopping centers don’t have vestibules to keep out the cold and I for one have a car in which the heater doesn’t work. Also, the glass that we use on our windows down here is thin enough that half the time you wouldn’t know whether you’re inside or outside. Sure, it’s beautiful in summer but when winter rolls around we’re living in an ice-box!
Anyway, enough complaining, we still have days like the one pictured so I guess I don’t have a whole lot to whinge about right!
I know I’ve said this a lot lately but this is really just a check-in to say hi and let you know that all is good down this part of the world. Work is busier than it has ever been, the boys are doing great at school and my lovely wife is just as lovely as ever. The book is coming along nicely though, at times, a little slowly and facebooking and twittering, but for the last few weeks has been great fun too.
Oh, and I’ve had emails as to why I’m closing the comments section so soon these days. It’s more because I’m being forced to. It doesn’t take long after posting for the spam comments to hit and if I don’t monitor it frequently enough they build up and look pretty crummy. The best way to stop them right now is to close the option completey. So, if it’s still open, get in while you can.
As for the lockout I have to be brutally honest, I have paid absolutely no attention to it for months. I haven’t looked for news, Googled news or even so much as watched any of it on TV. I’m so bored with it that I couldn’t be bothered. Once the season starts, whenever that might be I’ll be all over it but right now I couldn’t care less about who’s saying what.
At the risk of being too brief I’ll leave it there. There’s not a whole to talk about in the middle of the off-season. There’s always time to say hi though right!
